Best TDS Water Tester | TDS Measurements

What are Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) Meters?
In order to measure the effectiveness of your RODI filter, many units have built in total dissolved solids or TDS meters. A TDS meter is used to determine the amount of dissolved particles in the water, usually in parts-per-million or ppm. However this is not necessarily true. TDS meters are actually measuring electrical conductivity (EC).

EC is the measurement of how well a medium (usually water) conducts electricity. In general, conductivity increases as the concentration of ionic dissolved solids increases. Using EC as a measurement of TDS is non-specific for ion type.

How is TDS measured?
Total dissolved solids (TDS) is measured as a volume of water with the unit milligrams per liter (mg/L), otherwise known as parts per million (ppm). According to the EPA secondary drinking water regulations, 500 ppm is the recommended maximum amount of TDS for your drinking water. Anything measurement higher than 1000 ppm is an unsafe level of TDS. If your TDS reading exceeds 2000 ppm, then a filtration system may be unable to handle it.

Testing water quality is essential, especially for our drinking water. With diverse sources and quality of water supplies to our homes, it has become a necessity to own a functional total dissolved solids (TDS) digital tester to test the quality of water you are taking.

It would be more economical and convenient than purchasing it separately. The testing data from PH meter and TDS meter all are practical. The pen meter partner also can be separately used whenever you need.

Things To Consider When Buying A TDS Meter
Automatic temperature control (ATC):
An automatic temperature compensation capability ensures consistent readings regardless of chilling water or boiling one. If you ignore this feature you will get different TDS level for the same water at different temperatures.

Auto-off function:
Automatic shut off function ensures the longevity of the battery life and prevents early battery run down. Different models feature an auto-off after different intervals of inactivity like two minutes, five minutes or ten minutes.
