For many indoor home-growers, LED grow lights are game-changers. Although there’s debate over whether LEDs produce the highest yields, there’s no doubt these units are the most eco-friendly option. Add in features like easy setup and powerful light intensity, and you could see why cannabis growers are drawn to LEDs like, well, moths to a flame.
In many respects, full spectrum LED grow lights are hot because they’re cool…literally. Unlike high-intensity discharge (HID) grow lights, LEDs don’t give off a ton of energy or heat. This makes LEDs super friendly for the environment and your wallet. LEDs are also lighter and easier to set up than HIDs. Beginners have no problems plugging LEDs into an electrical socket and turning them on. Some LED lights are also quite flexible, making it easy to fit into almost any grow space.
LED Grow Lights Buyer’s Guide
Power
Wattage is a key consideration when choosing the appropriate LED grow light. Plants need a lot of light to grow, but too much light can result in browning or yellowing leaves.
The amount of watts you need will depend on the plants you are growing. Fruiting plants like tomatoes may need up to 32 watts of light per square foot of growing area. In contrast, leafy plants such as salad leaves will only need 10 to 20 watts per square foot of growing area.
Coverage
You will need to measure the growing area to ensure that the light you choose provides enough to cover the whole area evenly. Most LED grow lights specify the coverage at certain heights in their description.
Energy efficiency
LED lights cost less to run than traditional High-Intensity Discharge (HID) lights. In addition, LED lights produce less heat so you will not need to use as much energy cooling as you would with HID.
Full spectrum
Until recently, LED grow lights usually provided red, blue, and white light. However modern grow lights are full spectrum which means they provide all the colours in the light spectrum. Full spectrum lights are the most similar to natural sunlight and can, therefore, support your plants well through all stages of the growth cycle from seed to fruiting or flowering.
Scynce LED Raging Kush 690W LED Grow Light
The Scynce LED Raging Kush was designed specifically for flowering in vertical farming. Using Scynce’s patented optics for incredible canopy penetration, this LED grow light was engineered to meet the needs of large horticulture operations.
Whether your need is for intensity & scheduling control, high humidity and frequently cleaned environments, or maximizing limited space, the Raging Kush is a scalable solution to meet your growing needs.
Wireless Control
“Theia” (thee-uh) is our proprietary lighting control app. Available on Android and iOS, Theia puts you in control of dimming, spectrum tuning, scheduling and cloud storage for custom recipes.
Spectrum Adjustability
All of our lights come with a preset Veg or Flower spectrum while an advanced R&D mode gives you complete control to simulate sunrise/sunset or bring in more blues or reds as your photo morphological testing dictates.
Light Delivery System
Patented light delivery system utilizes custom optics which puts more light onto and down through the plant’s canopy… where it really counts.
